You can still make it into tonight’s Bronze Superflex Contender league if you hurry! There’s only spot left. Draft starts at 7:30pm ET. More about contender leagues in this video.
Today’s draft filled too quickly, so last night we another. Drafting two hours after the Contender league is the just-added Copper Standard league. It still has room for 4 more.
We expect to host live events every night, now, through the beginning of the season. And in the last two weeks before kickoff, it’s gets pretty crazy around here! Come join the fun, we’ll see you in the draft room!
Tournament of Warriors Signup Closes Tonight
Last chance, guys! The signup for DataForce’s annual Tournament of Warriors closes tonight. We’ll start drafting tomorrow.

This is a FREE contest we offer to our nation’s active duty, reservist, and veteran military, as well as current and retired first responders. It was developed for the sole purpose of saying thank you to those who defend our freedoms, rights, and maintain our health and safety, and all prizes are donated by DataForce Fantasy Football.
Contestants will be paired into individual 12-team leagues for a draftmaster contest, and will compete on an overall leaderboard of all warriors.
Mobile App Fixes
Two little glitches appeared out of nowhere on our mobile app. If you’ve experienced either of these issues, and they still persist, you may want to download and reinstall the app.

IOS/Apple Version: Suddenly, it was no longer keeping you logged in after you closed the app. Next time you fired up the app, it would take you right back to the login page. If you’re experiencing this, download the latest version by searching the Apple store for DataForce Fantasy Football.
Android Version: The gray circle icon pictures disappeared for some users! Again, a quick fix, just reinstall from Google Play.
Note to app users: We are anticipating a pretty major overhaul of the mobile software, including the app, next off-season. If you have suggestions/complaints/ideas/wishes, don’t be shy about letting us know! Making you happy will probably make others happy too!
The Newbie Corner: Waiver Processing
The following was last posted in 2022, and it bears repeating. Dig in as deep as you like, or just skim to get the idea.
How Waivers Are Processed and Players Awarded
Waivers run every Wednesday night at 10pm ET. Here’s how it works on DataForce-hosted leagues:
- All bids for all players from all teams are ordered by amount bid, with the highest bids processed first. Ties in bidding amounts are broken according to the usual tie-break rules: during the season, the tie-break is by win/loss record, and then by points, with the worst team winning the tie.
- The software then goes bid-by-bid, awarding any bids it can. For a bid to be processed, the player must still be available (he wasn’t awarded to someone else already); the bidding team must have enough money; and the bidding team must have enough room on its roster after dropping players as necessary from the box titled Players I’m Willing To Waive.
- If dropping one or more players is necessary to award a bid, the software always drops them in the order in which you list them. You can set conditions on your drops, such as ‘Drop only to obtain any running back’, so some drop options may be skipped over. But the software will always drop the top qualifying player listed in your box, as each player is awarded.
- The software then moves on to the next-highest bid from step [1] above, whoever that player may be and whoever that bidding team may be. Rinse and repeat until the list is exhausted.

This methodology yields some results that may not at first be obvious. First, the highest bidder for each player won’t always win, because that bidder may not have room left on their roster, or money left in their pocket, by the time their bid is processed. Second, you need to be careful about how you order your players in the Players I’m Willing To Waive box. Let’s cover some examples.
Suppose your roster is full on Wednesday night, and you are the high bidder on two players: A running back for $30 and a wide receiver for $20. You list two players you’re willing to drop: Player A first, and player B second, but a condition is placed on player B such that he will only be dropped to pick up a running back.
What will happen? Answer: Player A will be dropped to get your running back for $30. Then, when the software later gets around to processing your $20 wide receiver bid, there will be nobody left to drop! Because player B has a condition: drop only to obtain a running back.
So here’s a piece of advice: Except in few odd circumstances, put your ‘conditional’ drops always on top, so they’re used up first. That way, you’ll have your unconditional drops available to pick up other players.
How waivers are run on MyFantasyLeague software
We won’t spend a lot of time on this topic, except to remind you that MyFantasyLeague provides commissioners the option of offering conditional bidding, and we use this option for leagues run by DataForce at MFL. That means the rules you may be used to at other MyFantasyLeague sites may not be the same at DataForce! You need to learn how conditional bidding works.
Bookmark this: http://www03.myfantasyleague.com/2021/support?SEARCH=conditional+bids. It’s not a bad idea to browse through these help topics on MFL. The general idea is that you will group all of your bids into bid groups, and–VERY IMPORTANT–only one player per bid group will be awarded to you!
I’ll give you a piece of advice for MyFantasyLeague waivers as well, that works for most users. If you don’t want to get into the intricacies of conditional bidding, just follow one rule: Put all your bids into one group, and then copy that group several times over to create additional identical groups. That way, you’ll get as many players as you can.
Other waivers odds and ends
Let me now list a few other hints and tricks for DataForce waivers in general.
- Anytime a player is dropped, he goes on Waivers, not Free Agency. He’ll sit there until the coming Wednesday’s blind bidding. That’s so everyone has an equal chance at picking him up.
- There is one exception to the above rule: If you pick up a player and drop him in the same week, he lands back on Free Agency. This is to prevent ‘churning,’ where one team picks up and discards players over and over just to keep opponents from getting them. An important note about this: MyFantasyLeague software doesn’t accommodate this rule. So if your league is hosted on MFL, and you see a player you want that was both picked up and dropped in the same week, just email us at DataForce and we’ll unlock him for you.
- Your League->Players page may be the best place to research players and learn the status of each. Note that the Owned By column differentiates between free agents and players on waivers, so you know where to find them. You can also check the radio button to see only those players available on Free Agency.
- We sometimes get questions about how to drop a player before Wednesday night. There are various reasons for wanting to do this, and the answer is easy: Do it on your Free Agents page. You can drop players anytime you wish, you just can’t add anybody until Free Agency opens for the week.
- We also receive questions about dropping players from your bench after their game starts. No can do. Once your player’s team plays, he’s locked in place, whether in the starting lineup or on the bench and cannot be dropped.
- Once week fourteen rolls around (the week before playoffs begin in most leagues), players who are dropped in single-year leagues remain out of play the rest of the year!
As always, if you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask. We’re here to help.
