Prize Sharing at DataForce

Often, teams in the playoffs wish to share prizes in order to mitigate the risk of losing. For example, the two teams in the Super Bowl may wish to just split the prize, or two friends who make the playoffs may want to decide early that they will share the winnings.

You decide what percentage goes to the team that advances furthest in the playoffs, and what percentage goes to the other team. For example, you might agree that the team that goes furthest receives 60% and the other team receives 40%, or anything you like.

Both sides must agree to the terms. One side submits a prize-share offer, and the other accepts, both on this page.

Prize sharing is available during the playoffs (weeks 15-17). Offers can be sent Tuesday through Thursday and expire when the Thursday night game kicks off. You may have only one offer out at a time. If an offer is accepted, all playoff winnings of both teams are pooled and split by the agreed percentages.

There are a few limitations when using this automated option. If you agree to something complex, such as the following examples, you will need to email the commissioner at [email protected] to form a prize-sharing agreement.

These are examples of prize-sharing agreements that will need to be done manually:

  1. When three or more teams enter an agreement.
  2. When an agreement is reached after the Thursday night game begins.
  3. Contender leagues, because they span multiple leagues.

Prize Sharing

Prize-sharing is available only during weeks 15-17.

You may offer only one prize share to one team at a time in your league. Prize share offers must be made on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, and expire at gametime on Thursday evening.

If a prize-share offer is accepted, ALL playoff winnings for the two teams are pooled. The team that advances furthest in the playoffs receives the agreed-upon percentage, and the other team receives the rest.
