Fair Play and Sportsmanship
We are committed to providing an enjoyable fantasy football experience for all, and that means insisting upon and enforcing standards of fair play. When you join one of our leagues, you are agreeing to abide by the following regulations:
- Collusion of any sort between teams (such that one team is improved at the expense of another) is strictly forbidden.
- Setting a line-up that is less than optimal, so as to lose your game to another for any reason, is considered unethical. Errors are to be expected, but owners are expected to attempt to submit a reasonable line-up each week.
- In multi-year leagues, failure to roster one or more competitive players at each position, so as to lower weekly scores and improve your draft position in the upcoming year, is a violation of fair-play rules. It should be noted that the Potential Points calculation is adjusted upward for any roster spot which does not produce any points during a week (potential points are used to determine draft position in the upcoming year). Therefore, since there is no team benefit in tanking games, if you submit less than an optimal lineup, your attempt at collusion will be transparent, and you will be in danger of being removed from the league.
- All league-related transactions must be for the sole purpose of improving your own team and/or its standing in the league.
- You may not drop players from your team for any reason other than to improve your team and/or its standing. This includes "recycling" players, where one team churns players in the free agent list to prevent other teams from selecting them.
- No owner may take any action meant to interfere with fair play. An example of such an action might be gaining access to an opponent's account in order to view waiver bids.
- Our games are meant to be fun for all participants and to encourage friendly competition. Any owner who berates or threatens another owner, or whom DataForce deems a contributor to a toxic atmosphere in the league, will be considered in violation of our sportsmanship rules. It is also in bad taste to copy another owner's team name or logo/icon; please refrain from such actions.
- Creative team names is all part of the fun, but team names which insult another person (such as a league member) or class of persons will not be tolerated.
- Holding multiple accounts is strictly forbidden, as is owning more than one team in the same league by any other means. One account per person, please.
Failure to follow these fair play standards may result in the limitation or removal of game privileges. This includes:
- Suspension of privileges such as trading, waivers, or even line-up submittal.
- Deactivation and removal of the DataForce account.
- Any other action that DataForce deems necessary in order to enforce fair play standards.
- DataForce uses an automated reporting system to track abusive behavior. If we receive legitimate complaints from three different people about you in the same season, your ability communicate with other users will be automatically suspended for seven days without appeal. Every complaint from a new person will start the seven-day suspension over again. This suspension is not negotiatable; we expect all of our customers to be civil, so that everyone can enjoy the leagues they pay for.
You are encouraged to monitor activity within your league, and to let us know of any suspicious actions.
Violation Detection
DataForce uses robust detection software to uncover unreported relationships between team owners and to detect potential collusion. If you are violating the above fairplay rules, we will know about it.
One of the many detection routines we use is a weekly automated scan of roster moves into and out of your starting lineup. If you have made suspicious rosters moves that look like an attempt to lose your game, we will notify you of what we detected and request an explanation of the move or a correction of your lineup. Such "suspicious moves" include purposefully placing players into your lineup who are on bye, or injured and unexpected to play, or who have a significantly worse projected fantasy score than someone who remains on your bench.
If no explanation or correction is received by you by 12:30pm Sunday, eastern time, we reserve the right to change your lineup, using our projections to set the most favorable lineup.
Appeals and Disputes
From time to time, game situations may arise where a commissioner has to make a ruling on an appeal or dispute. For example, an owner may accidentally drop a player, or trade a player, or draft a player, and request to have the action reversed. We try to be accomodating and correct operator error when it is reported immediately, and when we are available to help. Other times a misunderstanding of rules or procedures may produce unwanted results. Again, we try to be helpful if problems are reported immediately and we can correct the problem without disrupting the league. See the FAQ for more information on various requests for help. We greatly appreciate it when other owners are understanding of honest mistakes made by other owners and of new customers as they learn the software.
However, not all requests can be accomodated. We cannot, for example, under any circumstance accept a request to change your starting lineup after games have begun. Nor can we guarantee immediate availability of commissioners to correct user errors.
Sometimes commissioner actions from user requests lead to appeals from other contestants. DataForce grants its commissioners full authority to make all decisions regarding disputes and appeals. We will do our best to fairly represent all parties for the enjoyment and fair competition of all participants. DataForce commissioners are the final arbitrar in any and all disputes, and all decisions made by the commissioners are final.

We are happy, however, to discuss software operation and rules.
