Create Your Custom Skin for DataForce Fantasy Football
A "skin" is just an outward presentation of the software. It changes absolutely nothing about how the software actually works.
That said, you may as well pick a color scheme and user interface that appeals to you! Fantasy Football should be enjoyable! You can even set different lighting for desktop and mobile — a dark phone and a bright desktop, if that suits you.
Here is a short description of the skins with their color palettes:
Greens and teals
- DataForce: the house colors — a calm sea green. This is what you get if you never change a thing.
- Sideline: a cleaner, brighter teal than DataForce, with pale mint tables. Airy and easy on the eyes for a long session.
- Home Turf: true grass green. The color the game is actually played on, and the most field-like skin in the set.
- Tailgate: olive drab — the army-green of a parking lot cookout, warmer and earthier than the other greens.
Blues and violets
- Open Field: a clear mid-sky blue, sitting between the teals and the deeper blues. The most neutral of the blues.
- Blackout: a night-game look — dark charcoal panels lit by electric blue. The only skin whose content areas are dark by default.
- Primetime: bold broadcast blue with a deep navy header. Confident and high-contrast, like a network scoreboard.
- Monday Night: indigo and periwinkle — a softer, later-in-the-evening take on blue.
- Overtime: vivid violet. The most saturated skin we have, and the one that looks least like everyone else's.
- Nightcap: deep wine plum. Reads as an evening drink after the games are over — rich rather than bright.
Reds, oranges and browns
- Red Zone: vivid crimson. Loud, urgent, impossible to ignore — exactly like the part of the field it is named for.
- Varsity: deep collegiate red, kept flat and matte like ink printed on a program. Traditional and a little vintage.
- Hot Route: bright orange, the hottest color in the set. Picks up the energy of a receiver breaking off his pattern.
- Chain Gang: weathered brick rose — the same corner of the color wheel as Red Zone, but muted and worn in rather than shouting.
- Leather&Laces: pigskin brown. Warm and tactile, the color of the ball itself, with a matte finish to match.
- Homecoming: golden amber and autumn brown. Nostalgic, a little sepia, like a photo from an old season.
Neutrals
- Gridiron: cool slate gray. Deliberately plain and utilitarian — the skin for people who want the numbers and nothing else.
- Sandlot: the warm counterpart to Gridiron — sand and taupe. The quietest skin we have, and the easiest to stare at all day.
And here are the other tweaks and features under your control after you choose a skin color:
- Banner image: the artwork across the top of the page. There are seventeen to choose from — Floodlights, Hut Hut Hut, Chess Pieces, Cheerleaders, Players in Action, Football, Deep Roster, Face Off, Musical Instruments, Trophy Case, Book Worm, Battleship, Tailgate Party, Equipment Bench, Football Stadium, Poker Night and America's Game. The banner appears on the full-screen site only, and it is hidden in Day Game lighting, where the artwork does not read well against a near-white header.
- Image filter: how that banner artwork is colored against your palette. Home tints it to your skin's main color, Faded uses the same color washed out, Alternate uses your skin's companion color, and Rival swings it to the opposite side of the color wheel. Each button is painted in the color it will actually produce, so you can see the choice before you make it.
- Lighting: how light or dark the page is. Classic is the familiar look, Day Game is a bright page, Night Game is a dark one, and Auto simply follows whatever your phone, tablet or computer is already set to. This is the one setting you can choose separately for the full-screen site and for mobile — handy if you want a dark phone but a bright desktop.
- Corners: how rounded boxes and buttons are. Chiseled is square-cornered, Curvy is a gentle radius, and Cuddly is generously rounded.
- Depth: how much the panels lift off the page. Flat has no shadow at all, Raised gives a small one, and Floating gives a soft wide shadow that makes cards look like they are hovering.
- Finish: the sheen on buttons and the menu bar. Matte is a solid, flat color, Satin adds a slight gradient, and Gloss adds a brighter, more polished highlight.
- Lettering: the typeface. Classic is the long-standing site font, Clean is a modern system font, and Casual is a softer, rounder face. All three are sized to match, so switching will not change your layout.
- Ghost Players: the faint player artwork watermarked behind the page. Hidden turns it off entirely, Spectral leaves just a hint of it, and Manifest shows it at full strength.
Every one of these can be changed as often as you like, and changing your mind costs nothing — nothing you pick here affects your teams, your rosters or your money.
Play around, have fun, and if you see anything that doesn't display quite right after setting up your skin and browsing around the site, please do let us know! We can't possibly check out every combination of options so we want to hear from you when something doesn't work out.
